Building Digital Skills for Tomorrow’s Learners
3. Background and Justification
Many rural schools in Apac District have limited access computers and to digital skills training. Even where computers exist, learners and teachers often lack the knowledge to use them effectively. This campaign aims to address this gap by promoting digital literacy and supporting schools to utilize ICT for teaching and learning.
This campaign will also aim at boosting the knowledge of students and teachers in rural schools to do research and became more creative and innovative.
4. Campaign Objectives
- To equip learners with basic
computer and digital skills
- To empower teachers and school administrators in rural schools to integrate
ICT into teaching
- To promote safe and responsible use of the internet
- To support rural schools in effective use of ICT resources
-To promote Creativity and Innovation among Young Citizens in rural areas
5. Target Area
Selected Rural Secondary Schools in Apac District
6. Key Activities
- Digital literacy training
for learners
- ICT capacity building workshops for teachers
- Cyber safety awareness sessions
- School ICT mentorship and follow-up visits
7. Expected Outcomes
- Improved digital skills
among learners
- Increased teacher confidence in ICT usage
- Better utilization of school computers and internet services
- Enhanced digital safety awareness
8. Support Requested from UACU
Support in the form of:
- Computers or refurbished computer equipment
- ICT training materials
- Technical guidance and mentorship
- Partnership and visibility through the UACU platform
9. Sustainability
The campaign will work closely with teachers and school administrators to ensure skills gained are continuously applied. Trained teachers will continue mentoring learners beyond the campaign period.
There will be annual project and skills demonstration competition organized between selected schools to evaluate the campaign output.
